A letter of invitation cannot be issued unless you are fully registered and have paid the registration fee in full.

Can I get a letter of invitation and then register onsite?
No, you must be registered before EASD can issue a letter of invitation.

I only want to attend one symposium; can I get a 1-day registration?
No, there is no 1-day registration available for the EASD Annual Meeting.

What do I do if I lose my delegate badge in Stockholm?
Please go to one of the registration counters at the congress centre. Please be aware that there are fees involved in replacing a delegate badge.

My partner would like to come, but not go to the Scientific Sessions, is there a partner registration?
No, there is no partner registration.

Is insurance included in the registrations fee?
No, you must have your own insurance.

When is the abstract submission deadline?
The closing date for abstract submission is 01 April 2010 at 23:59 hrs CET.

Does EASD accept late-breaking abstracts?
No, there are no late breaking abstract accepted.

When will I know if my abstract has been accepted?
Notification of acceptance/ rejection will be sent in the last week of May ONLY to the presenting (= first named) author’s contact e-mail entered in the online abstract submission tool.

My colleague and I submitted an abstract but EASD never contacted me to say if it has been accepted or not, why not?

My abstract has been accepted but I can’t attend, what should I do?
It is MANDATORY that the first named (= presenting) author of any abstract accepted for presentation be present to deliver his/her paper. Failure to do so, without prior or adequate explanation sent to the EASD Office by fax or e-mail (abstracts@easd.org), may result in the author or the institution being banned from presenting abstracts for the next three years.

What are the dimensions for the posters?
Instructions, guidelines and the dimension of the posters for Poster Presentation are made available on the EASD website shortly after all notifications of acceptance have been sent.

Can I put my poster up for one day and then take it down when I finish my presentation; I have to go home the next day?

My abstract has been published in an international journal, does that matter?
Authors are not permitted to submit work that they know is likely to be published before the EASD Annual Meeting. The Programme Committee has the right to withdraw an abstract from the programme containing material that has already been published. However, EASD will consider abstracts that have been presented in recent months at local or national diabetes meetings. An author submitting or presenting published work will be banned from presenting data at the EASD Meetings for three years. Nevertheless please always contact the EASD office by e-mail at abstracts@easd.org.

I submitted my abstract but the data has changed and I need to withdraw it, what should I do?

My name is spelled incorrectly in the Abstract Volume, how could this happen?
The Abstract Volume is based on the data that has been entered in the abstract submission tool; please make sure that the author names are spelled correctly at the time of submission.

My abstract has been accepted, but I cannot afford the trip to Stockholm, what should I do?

When will the abstracts be made available to the public?
The abstracts will be made available on the EASD website on 01 July.

Will the abstract volume be available on CD-Rom?
No, abstracts will only be available online or in the Abstract Volume.

Can I get the Scientific Programme in non paper-format?
The abstracts are available online via the EASD website or in paper form only.

Is photography allowed and recording (video or audio) in the halls?
No, photography and recording (audio or video) is not allowed unless you are a registered journalist.

 

Are there press facilities in Stockholm?
Yes, press facilities including working stations are available in the congress centre.

What press conferences will be taking place?
The official list of press conference will be available at a later date.

Can I leave a press pack at the press office?
Yes, press packs may be left at the press office. Please contact brian.carey@easd.org for information.

Can I organise a press conference in Stockholm?

Does EASD have a dial-in option for its press conferences?
No there are no dial-in options during EASD press conferences.

What are the embargo times for the EASD Annual Meeting?
Embargo times are as follows:
• Information contained in those abstracts published online and in the Volume of Abstracts may not be released until the abstracts appear on the EASD web site. Abstracts are made available on the EASD website before the Annual Meeting takes place.
• Poster Presentations are under embargo until the first day of the Annual Meeting.
• Oral Presentations are under embargo until one (1) minute following the commencement of the speakers’ presentation.
