About EASD

The European Association for the Study of Diabetes e.V. (EASD) is a membership-based academic non-profit organization. It was founded in 1965 and is based in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The aims of the Association are to encourage and support research in the field of diabetes, the rapid diffusion of acquired knowledge and to facilitate its application.

Our Foundation

Funding European diabetes research

The European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD), founded by EASD in 2000, offers support in all areas of diabetes research through a wide range of joint and stand-alone initiatives.

Diabetologia

Submit to our journal

Diabetologia is a major monthly international diabetes journal with an Impact Factor of 10.2 (2024). It publishes original clinical, translational and experimental research on all aspects of diabetes and related subjects.

Awarding excellence in diabetes

EASD awards several major prizes annually to honour distinguished diabetes researchers and clinicians. Prize recipients deliver an award lecture at our Annual Meeting.
