Dr Ben Stocks

Role: Post-doctoral researcher

Institution: Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, University of Copenhagen, Denmark

Research & Interests: My background is in exercise physiology and metabolism, particularly focusing on pathways that transduce adaptive signalling. My research primarily uses proteomic techniques – which typically measure thousands of proteins simultaneously – to unpick the mechanisms of obesity and type 2 diabetes development and their therapeutic interventions. I have a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Bath and a PhD from the University of Birmingham, both in Sport and Exercise Sciences. After this, I joined the Zierath group within the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research at the University of Copenhagen to further deepen my research into the interplay between metabolism and protein dynamics.
