EASD Immunology School for Endocrinology
EASD will hold its first Immunology School in Vienna, Austria from 26 - 27 March 2026
This two-day training course is designed to bring a refresher on immunology in type 1 diabetes and novel diagnostic and therapeutic tools to endocrinology or diabetes-trained healthcare professionals.
Content / Programme
The course programme, lead by Prof. Chantal Mathieu and Prof. Julia Mader, offers an in-depth exploration of the immunological basis of type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Key topics include the introduction of novel immunology concepts relevant to T1D, new insights in the staging of the disease, strategies for early detection, approaches to disease-modifying therapies and advances in beta-cell replacement.

Please note: Accommodation and meals will be provided. Travel costs are not included and participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.
Eligibility Criteria
This course is open to:
- EASD members (EASD members who received their medical degree no more than 20 years before 1 January 2026 will receive priority)
- Medical doctors with focus on Endocrinology and Diabetology, Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology, clinical researchers in diabetes, pharmacists
- Professionals with fluency in spoken English and available to attend all sessions on-site
