About
The ExPAS executive committee is delighted to announce to all members of the EASD the endorsement of this new EASD study group. Please join us!
Our overall objectives are to promote communication, scientific collaborations and clinical education in the areas that link exercise sciences to metabolism and diabetes.
Our goal will be to advance our understanding of the effects of exercise and physical activity/inactivity on treatment, pharmacotherapy, control and prevention of diabetes and promote high-quality studies establishing the importance of exercise and fitness in diabetes. This also includes the potential interaction between pharmacological and exercise-based treatment of diabetes. We also want to foster interactions and the exchange of ideas among specialists of cognate disciplines of the EASD community including, but not limited to diabetologists, endocrinologists, educators, behavioral specialists, dieticians, exercise scientists and physiologists, psychologists, coaches, trainers and physical and rehabilitation therapists.
The overall plan for next three years is to promote specific exercise and physical activity tracks for abstracts, oral and poster communications. Targeted symposia of experts in the fields at the interface of diabetes and exercise will be proposed, covering themes going from fundamental sciences to clinical practices. We also hope to develop interactions with other societies and organizations around the world.
The executive committee will be happy to include members at large, so please contact one of the formative ExPAS Organizing Committee members:
