New EASD e-Learning module launched

This module, which is the first in a new course on beta cell biology, explores the critical role that disrupted insulin secretion in pancreatic beta cells plays in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes. It looks at how research – including genome editing and stem cell research – is shedding new light on the complex intracellular triggering pathway by which healthy beta cells regulate blood glucose.

EFSD welcomes applications for the following programme

Patient education and support

Empowering people with diabetes to manage their own condition is essential to effective treatment – and depends on comprehensive, ongoing patient education. This module gives a brief introduction to the history of patient education in diabetes, including some of the key concepts relating to education and behaviour-change interventions.
