Rumyana Dimova

Rumyana Dimova graduated with honors from the Medical University of Sofia in 2008, receiving the prestigious Golden Hippocrates Medal for being a full excellent graduate. Following her graduation, she was appointed as a medical doctor at the University Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Endocrinology (USBALE) "Acad. Ivan Penchev" EAD. Since 2023, she has been serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Endocrinology at the Medical University of Sofia. She received her PhD with a thesis titled: "Autonomic Diabetic Neuropathy - Contemporary Diagnostic and Therapeutic Opportunities", and obtained her specialty in Endocrinology in 2017, also from the Medical University of Sofia.

Her focus areas are prediabetes, cardio-metabolic risk in prediabetes, diabetes prevention, behavioural interventions in prediabetes, cardiac autonomic neuropathy in early stages of glucose intolerance, and the implementation of CGMs in prediabetes.

Dr Dimova has received multiple national and international awards and is a committee member of the EASD Early Career Academy (ECA).
